The Democratic Party of Illinois is the state affiliate of the national Democratic Party, serving as one of Illinois' two major political parties. It is the oldest continuously operating state party in Illinois and currently holds majority control over the state's U.S. House seats, both U.S. Senate seats, the state legislature, and the governorship.
